Who are we looking for?
We are seeking for a mid-level Legal, Privacy & Compliance Counsel to support Defined.ai’s growing operations. You will act as a business partner, providing practical legal advice across commercial, privacy, and compliance matters, with a strong focus on data, AI governance, and vendor ecosystems.

Required Skills & Experience

• Lawyer or Legal advisor in the EU with 2-3 years’ experience.
• Strong background in commercial contracts and data protection.
• Experience in technology, AI, or data-driven environments preferred.
• Pragmatic, business-oriented mindset with strong stakeholder management.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and cross-collaboration skills
• Good sense of agency and self-accountability.
• Integrity and a strong sense of responsible AI development.
• Fluent in English.

Nice to have

• Exposure to AI Act / AI governance frameworks.
• Familiarity with ISO standards (e.g. 27001, 27701).

What will you do?

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (customers, vendors, data providers).
• Provide proactive legal and regulatory advice to internal stakeholders.
• Support privacy and data protection compliance, including GDPR and global frameworks.
• Contribute to AI governance and data lifecycle management initiatives.
• Assist in risk assessment and mitigation across operations and transactions.
• Develop and maintain internal policies, procedures, and compliance programmes.
• Support supplier and dataset vetting processes and third-party risk management.
• Deliver training and awareness on legal, privacy, and compliance topics.
