Job Description

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Identifies and advises the company regarding legal risk arising from the activities of the organization. Provides advice and guidance to company management concerning regulatory compliance, policies, practices, procedures, and contractual terms and conditions on such matters. Assists in overseeing implementation of company standards regarding organizational activity. Manages legal department administrative staff and the activities of such, to ensure department objectives are met.

STEP INTO THE ROLE

  • Assists with ensuring that company practices, policies and procedures comply with all corporate regulatory requirements.
  • Advises management on legal matters by providing advice on management and contractual issues, conducting research into special topics, and reviewing and advising on contractual or business agreements, as necessary. Researches and interprets statutes, laws, rules, decisions, ordinances and regulations in order to advise the corporation on the company’s rights and responsibilities.
  • Assists in preparation of corporate policies and procedures by analyzing operations and administration to determine needs for changes or development of corporate policies and procedures.
  • Assists in preparation of the department’s annual business plan, including facilitating participation of the other members of the department and bringing forth changes and improvements in departmental practices.
  • Reviews, negotiates and edits owner contracts involving assigned owners in collaboration with operations leaders, and department leadership, if necessary. Advises operations personnel on contractual risks and negotiation strategies related to such contracts. Acts as agent of corporation for this and other transactions related to such projects.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • A Juris Doctorate required.
  • Admitted to the Bar.
  • Minimum 3-8 years total experience required; including experience with general contract principles, contract and construction law, and commercial contracts.

WHAT SETS YOU APART

  • Experience in Renewables, Energy Parks or related technologies.

$178,151.00 - $258,319.00 Individual Compensation to be determined based on the applicant's applicable experience and qualifications balanced against internal equity.
