Job Description

Your area of work:

We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Corporate & Commercial Legal team on a fixed-term contract from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2027.

Clearstream is a leading provider of post-trade services for the global securities and investment funds industry. As part of the Group Legal department, which operates across six jurisdictions, you will provide legal support to Clearstream Group entities in Luxembourg and abroad, with a particular focus on corporate law and corporate governance matters. Acting as a trusted business partner, you will advise senior stakeholders and contribute to strategic projects in a dynamic and highly regulated financial services environment.

Your responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice on corporate law and corporate governance matters to Clearstream Group entities in Luxembourg and internationally.
  • Support boards of directors and senior management on legal and governance-related topics.
  • Advise on regulatory matters and interactions with financial market authorities.
  • Contribute to business initiatives, strategic projects and M&A transactions.
  • Support the implementation of new legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Draft, review and negotiate legal documentation and corporate resolutions.
  • Collaborate closely with business, compliance, risk and other internal stakeholders.
  • Select, instruct and oversee external legal counsel where required.

Your profile.

  • Master's degree in Law (or equivalent) and qualification to practise law in a European jurisdiction.
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
  • Strong expertise in Luxembourg corporate law and corporate governance.
  • Good understanding of Luxembourg regulatory requirements applicable to financial institutions.
  • Knowledge of civil, commercial, banking and securities law would be an advantage.
  • Experience in securities services, capital markets or investment services is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact confidently with senior decision-makers.
  • Fluent in English; French and/or German would be an advantage.
