The role
As a Legal Counsel at Zeekr EU, you will play a crucial role in supporting the business by handling a wide array of legal matters across the EU region. The responsibilities will include various commercial legal matters, managing various stakeholders such as suppliers, dealers and importers, as well as customers related legal matters.  This role demands hands-on legal expertise, with a focus on drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements. The Legal Counsel will be part of a dynamic and innovative-driven legal team, reporting to the General Counsel who is based in Amsterdam. This role will cover commercial and regulatory matters at EU level, providing legal assistance for Zeekr EU B.V. and all its EU branches (e.g. Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and other EU local matters as required by the business needs).

 
This is what you will do:

• Commercial Negotiation: Expertly negotiate and draft complex commercial contracts for the Sales Team (ex. dealership agreements, importer agreements, SaaS agreements), balancing commercial needs with legal interests, with an emphasis on EU and Dutch law requirements.

• Partnerships & Procurement: Lead negotiations for a wide area of services and purchasing agreements to secure favorable terms and ensure compliance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple geographies worldwide, navigating the complexities of international contracting and regulatory frameworks.

• Regulatory matters specific to auto-motive industry: advice on regulatory matters specific to automotive industry including legal matters derived from product liability, software licensing and other EU legal requirements, ensuring proactive regulatory compliance across all EU markets. Proactively monitor legal and regulatory developments across relevant jurisdictions to ensure compliance and implement forward-looking risk management strategies.

To be successful in the role you will demonstrate:

• Minimum 7 years of experience as commercial lawyer, gained at a law firm or as an in-house legal counsel.  

• Strong knowledge of commercial contract law and commercial contracts negotiation. Anti-trust legal matters is a plus. 

• Experience in the automotive industry and familiarity with in-house legal operations. 

• Strong ability to provide pragmatic, solution-oriented legal advice.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

• Possession of a proactive and innovative "can-do" attitude with the ability to think creatively.
