Job Description

Our client, a major reinsurance firm, is currently seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join their HK Office.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with various teams, including structurers, marketers, client managers, underwriters, and actuaries in L&H and P&C transactions.
• Provide legal advice and support for complex structures in both LHSS and PCSS deals.
• Review, draft, and negotiate contracts for reinsurance and retrocession transactions.
• Conduct legal and regulatory due diligence, analyse and advise on matters relevant to the firm's transactions globally.
• Strengthen knowledge management, develop transactional policies, templates, and best practices.
• Coordinate international legal/regulatory issues, adjust the legal framework to meet requirements.
• Support internal projects, provide input to senior management, and manage outside counsel when needed.
• Conduct internal presentations and trainings on legal topics related to transactions.
• Monitor legal and regulatory trends in relevant business areas.

Requirements:

• Fully qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5+ years post-qualification experience.
• Preferably worked in a law firm or in-house in the (re)insurance industry.
• Proficient in negotiating, writing, and working in English and Mandarin;
