ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Legal Counsel serves as Teague's chief legal officer and primary attorney, providing the main source of legal advice across the organization. A dynamic, hands-on leader, this role balances high-level legal judgment with day-to-day execution — ensuring Teague operates within the law at all times, limiting risk exposure, and protecting the company's financial well-being and long-term viability.
Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, the Legal Counsel is a trusted voice at the board and executive table, integral to business decisions across contracts, compliance, employment, IP, and regulatory matters, including negotiating services agreements with all client partners ranging from startups to large corporations like Boeing. The role also serves as Corporate Secretary, supporting Teague's governance and Board-level responsibilities.
By translating complex legal and regulatory considerations into clear, actionable guidance, the Legal Counsel enables Teague's leadership to make confident, well-informed decisions that safeguard the company's integrity, reputation, and future.
TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS:
Travel domestically and internationally less than 5% of the time to support client and/or vendor meetings.
WHO YOU ARE:
You are a pragmatic, business-minded legal leader who brings sound judgment, discretion, and a strong sense of accountability to complex and sometimes ambiguous situations. You know how to balance legal risk with business priorities, translating complex issues into clear, actionable guidance that helps leaders make confident decisions. You’re comfortable operating independently, navigating sensitive matters with tact, and knowing when to lean in, when to challenge an approach, and when to bring in additional expertise.
You are a trusted partner who builds strong relationships across an organization, from executive leadership and the Board to HR, Finance, Operations, Business Development, and project teams. You’re proactive and curious, looking beyond today’s legal needs to anticipate emerging risks and opportunities, modernize how legal support is delivered, and help the business evolve responsibly. Above all, you bring integrity, composure, and a practical mindset to protecting the company while enabling it to do its best work.
