💼 The Role: Legal Counsel

We’re looking for a Legal Counsel to join our team and help shape the future of fiscal tech. In this role, you’ll work directly within our "House of Legal," supporting the Lead Counsel and the CCGO to ensure our rapid growth is secure, compliant, and efficient.

You’ll collaborate closely with Sales, Product, and Compliance teams and be part of a supportive, remote-first team that values autonomy and clear communication. You won't just be reviewing contracts; you will be an innovator driving LegalTech automation to reduce friction and accelerate business.

🛠️ What You’ll Do

• Own the "Three Pillars": You will act as a generalist covering 1) Corporate topics (M&A, subsidiaries), 2) Product & Contracts (SaaS agreements, IP/IT licensing), and 3) Regulatory & Compliance (ISMS, Data Privacy).
• Innovate & Automate: Help build the "House of Legal" by implementing AI-powered LegalTech tools (e.g., for contract lifecycle management) to streamline processes.
• Strategic Contracting: Draft, review, and negotiate complex SaaS agreements, ensuring alignment with business objectives while mitigating risk.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a trusted advisor to the C-Level, Sales, and Product teams, translating complex legal requirements into actionable business advice.
• Compliance Partnership: Work closely with the Compliance team on IT security and regulatory topics to ensure a unified governance strategy.

👀 What You Bring

• Education: A Juris Doctor (JD) or Mag. iur. from an accredited Austrian or German university
• Experience: 2 to 4 years of relevant experience (Mid-Level). A mix of Law Firm training and In-House (startup/scaleup) experience is the ideal combination.
• Tech & AI Literacy: You are excited about the transformation of the legal industry. You know tools like Harvey or Legora, understand the European AI Act, and want to automate workflows.
• SaaS Expertise: You have a strong background in European SaaS legal frameworks, contract law, and intellectual property. You understand the technical complexity behind APIs and digital products.
• Mindset: You are solution-oriented and "business-first." You view Legal as an enabler of growth, not a bottleneck.
