An exciting opportunity is available for a legal coordinator/paralegal to join the Legal Department at Australia’s pre-eminent biomedical research institute.
About the position
The Legal Coordinator (Paralegal) supports the effective delivery of legal services by coordinating legal workflows, maintaining contract and document processes, and assisting with the preparation and review of standard agreements. Working under the guidance of the Legal Operations Manager and Legal Counsel, the role plays a key part in ensuring legal matters are managed efficiently, consistently, and in line with governance requirements. This includes supporting the intake and triage of legal requests, maintaining accurate legal records and templates, and contributing to a structured and accessible legal knowledge base.

Knowledge and skills:
Experience in legal administration, coordination, or paralegal support
Working knowledge of contracts and legal documentation (e.g. NDAs, standard agreements)
Experience maintaining records, registers, or document management systems with strong version control
Ability to follow structured processes for intake, triage, and matter coordination
Exposure to legal financial processes, invoice tracking, or reconciliation (desirable)
Awareness of intellectual property processes (e.g. patents) (desirable)
Terms of appointment
This position is available for one year in a full-time capacity Salary is Professional Services Employee Level 5 ($84,479 - $97,036)Very attractive salary packaging options are available for general living expenses, meal entertainment, novated leasing and more. 12% superannuation payable, plus up to a further 5% after the first 6 months of service via our matching superannuation scheme.
