
The SRNL/BSRA Office of General Counsel (OGC) is hiring a Project Manager to take the lead on developing and organizing projects for active and upcoming legal programs, including major strategic projects already underway related to research and development, labor and employment, and regulatory compliance. The OGC consists of attorneys and administrators who identify and manage SRNL/BSRA’s legal challenges across a wide variety of areas.
This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and demands someone who knows how to lead in a highly regulated environment while keeping complex work on track.
As a Project Manager within the OGC , you will help set goals and priorities for core operational workflows, measuring the health and effectiveness of the numerous legal programs and tasks the Team undertakes in supporting the mission of Battelle Savannah River Alliance (BSRA) in its stewardship of the Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL).
You will work with lawyers, paralegals, engineers, scientists, and senior leaders to take large, complex, nationally relevant goals and turn them into clearly organized projects with time-bound goals, accountability structures, and feedback mechanisms.
You will assist in setting and drafting strategy for the functioning of legal programs in support of SRNL missions, which include the Labor and Employment Program, the Intellectual Property Program, and in-house training programs.
You will develop comprehensive project plans, manage project portfolios, and deliver monthly status reports
You will track new and emerging risks impacting the legal programs and SRNL missions
Key Responsibilities: Track goals and strategy execution for legal and compliance operational workflows, measuring effectiveness via metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), tracking accomplishments and monitoring the overall health of the OGC
Build and improve operational processes and systems to deliver efficient reporting, innovative risk mitigation, and operational health
Manage internal requests, foresee challenges, predict roadblocks, strengthen relationships across the research and operations enterprise, and execute plans that involve multidisciplinary teams.
Work with team members on strategies for executing, measuring progress, and sharing results that enable the OGC to identify efficiencies and improvements
Coordinating across SRNL to keep work aligned and moving efficiently
Building rapport and working with other SRNL teams to anticipate legal and compliance needs
Understand and support BSRA’s strategic, legal, and compliance position responsibilities and deliver outcomes that are aligned to support the SRNL mission
A strong candidate will be highly effective at cross-functional leadership, influencing strategy, and ensuring strong workflow health and operational excellence
Experience in the Legal, Public Policy, or Regulatory space is preferred but not necessary
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant experience in consulting, strategy, operations, or equivalent program management experience, or an educational degree in project management, business, marketing, finance, or operations, with a particular focus on legal or compliance
The ability to think critically and independently to anticipate problems, leverage data, and drive solutions
Experience at setting goals and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs)
Experience in effectively using Microsoft products and other data analytics tools for forecasting outcomes and tracking and displaying metrics
Proven time-management and organizational skills
Experience working with teams to develop and improve operational systems and tools
Experience driving collaboration of cross-functional teams, coordinating effectively, and inspiring others
Experience in identifying risk and setting clear priorities
Experience communicating effectively
