What We Are Looking For:

We are looking to fill an open vacancy for a Legal Assistant in our Vancouver office. This individual will independently manage and organize the daily operations of a few busy Corporate and Financial Services Lawyers. This role is for someone who has the ability to take initiative, prioritize, and multitask. Strong technical skills and attention to detail would be ideal for these cross-border financings and commercial transitional practices. The right applicant should also have a administrative background in Corporate or Financial Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, edit and organize all necessary day-to-day and transactional documentation
  • Provide administrative support on all transactions (i.e. signature page packages, wire confirmations & organization outgoing wires, prepare and compile record books, etc.)
  • Maintain expiry tickler
  • Communicate professionally with all internal and external clients
  • Manage client file openings and conflict checks
  • Manage duties related to accounting (i.e. billing, paying invoices, etc.)
  • Produce the highest quality of work
  • Accountable for all work assigned
  • Calendar management
  • Takes initiative
  • Confidential

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of previous experience as a legal assistant
  • Successful completion of a related post-secondary Legal Assistant and/or Paralegal program
  • Handle time pressure and stress of multiple demands

Skills:

  • Microsoft Office 365 suite of applications
  • Experience with creating, numbering, styling and rebuilding documents
  • Familiarity using DocuSign, closing folders, and minutebox
  • Good judgement and decision making
  • Organized
  • Resourceful
  • Detailed

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually; the base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal and market equity.
