Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. (QPWB), a multi-office national defense firm and the largest minority owned law firm in the United States, is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant for high-volume first-party/bad faith work to join our Denver office. This is a full-time position offering competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.

About the Role

The Legal Assistant will provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys handling a high-volume caseload of first-party insurance and bad faith matters. This position requires someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced litigation environment, managing competing priorities, and maintaining close attention to deadlines and case activity.

The ideal candidate will have prior civil litigation experience, preferably involving first-party insurance, bad faith, or insurance defense matters, and will be able to provide proactive support to a busy legal team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys handling first-party insurance and bad faith matters
  • Draft, edit, format, and proofread correspondence, pleadings, discovery, notices, and other legal documents
  • Assist with state and federal court filings and electronic filing procedures
  • Maintain attorney calendars and track court deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and other case-related dates
  • Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, meetings, and conferences
  • Assist with written discovery, subpoenas, records requests, and document production
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files in a high-volume environment
  • Review and organize incoming correspondence, discovery materials, records, and other case-related documents
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, experts, court personnel, and other parties
  • Assist attorneys with deposition, mediation, hearing, and trial preparation
  • Monitor outstanding items and proactively follow up on records, discovery, filings, and deadlines
  • Assist with attorney time entry, billing, and other administrative responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

  • Prior Legal Assistant experience in civil litigation required
  • Experience supporting a high-volume litigation practice strongly preferred
  • First-party insurance, bad faith, and/or insurance defense experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Colorado state and federal court procedures and electronic filing systems preferred
  • Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, deadlines, and legal document preparation
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Ability to work independently, anticipate attorney needs, and consistently follow through on assignments
  • Professional, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment

Compensation

The pay range for this position in Denver, CO is $65,000–$75,000 annually, based on experience.
