Be Part of the Team Driving the Next Phase of Our Sydney Growth

This is not a traditional legal assistant role.

You will do more than manage diaries and format documents. You will be a critical member of the team, driving our modern specialist Family Law firm forward.

At Delaney Roberts Specialist Family Lawyers, our Legal Assistants work proactively alongside experienced family lawyers to deliver exceptional client experiences, support efficient matter management and help create smarter ways of working.

We are looking for a confident and proactive Legal Assistant to join our Sydney team. This role will suit someone who enjoys working closely with high-performing Solicitors, embraces technology and systems, thinks ahead and takes genuine pride in helping a team operate at its best.

Be Part of a Firm on the Move

Our Sydney office has strong momentum, and we are continuing to invest in our people, systems, business development and client experience to support the next phase of growth.

You will join a high-performing and approachable team that combines the support, structure and quality standards of a larger specialist firm with the agility and energy of a growing firm.

This is an opportunity to be part of the core team helping shape the future of our Sydney office.

Work in a Modern Legal Support Role

Our Legal Assistants are trusted to contribute far beyond traditional administrative support. You will work proactively with your Solicitors to:

  • help create a calm, organised and highly responsive client experience

You will be supported by strong systems, workflows and precedents that help our teams deliver high-quality work efficiently and consistently.

We are looking for someone who enjoys thinking ahead, solving problems and helping busy Solicitors perform at their best.

Be Supported by a Broader Team

While this role is based in Sydney, you will be part of a broader legal support team across both our Sydney and Newcastle offices.

You will receive structured onboarding, training and ongoing support from both your Solicitor Team Leader and Legal Support Team Leader. Collaboration and knowledge sharing are important parts of how we work. We are focused on crating a workplace where high standards and sustainable performance can co-exist.

What We Offer:

  • legal Support Bonus paid monthly,
  • annual salary reviews,
  • flexible work arrangements, including 1 WFH day per week after probation,
  • structured onboarding and training,
  • strong systems, precedents and workflows,
  • ongoing development opportunities,
  • employee support programs,
  • recognition programs aligned to our values and culture, and
  • birthday leave and volunteering leave

About You

You are confident, organised and proactive. You enjoy working in a fast-paced professional environment and take pride in delivering work to a high standard.

You will ideally bring:

  • 3 + years’ experience in a legal assistant or legal administration role within a law firm,
  • experience in family law or another fast-paced litigation environment,
  • strong attention to detail and organisational skills,
  • confidence managing documents, diaries, client communication and workflows,
  • strong technology skills and the ability to quickly learn legal systems and processes
  • experience using Microsoft Office and legal practice management systems; ideally LEAP,
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and
  • a calm, polished and professional approach with clients.

Most importantly, you are someone who enjoys contributing to a team, improving the way work gets done and helping create an exceptional client experience.
