About the role

The Legal Services department is seeking a Legal Assistant to support the Legal Affairs team with administrative tasks and specific responsibilities related to investigations, policies, and presentations.

What you'll do

  • Support League policy management, including drafting, distribution, and compliance.
  • Assist with preparing PowerPoint presentations and other materials, including decks, guides, tracking charts, checklists, and reports.
  • Assist (under the supervision of MLS attorneys) with investigatory needs, including factual analyses, informational intake, and summaries.
  • Manage documents, electronic files, and the response process to litigation discovery requests.
  • Support independent contractor processes, including creating templates and interacting with internal stakeholders on departmental needs and engagement requests.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated individual with outstanding organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to proofread material for grammatical or spelling errors
  • Sound business judgment and flexibility/adaptability to prioritize, organize, manage, and complete time-sensitive matters without sacrificing accuracy
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of the Spanish and/or French Language (business proficiency)
