Job Description

Job entails managing all administrative tasks associated with the legal process of NY foreclosures. These tasks generally include drafting, responding to correspondence and updating client systems. The position requires substantial coordination with other legal assistants and attorneys in multi-disciplinary team environment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consistently and accurately updating the firm’s internal case management system, as well as clients’ systems.
  • Providing exceptional customer service to clients at every level of interaction.
  • Providing support to attorneys in a high volume, time sensitive atmosphere.
  • Providing regular and timely client status updates, as well as continual follow-up on outstanding documents and or services.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy and preparation.
  • Manage and organize case files, including electronic and physical documents.
  • Communicate with clients and court personnel professionally and effectively.
  • Draft legal notices or other types of legal pleadings.
  • Draft foreclosure Summons and Complaint
  • Update case management system and client systems accurately and promptly.
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job does not require supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma; preferably an associate degree
  • Preferably at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Preferably relevant foreclosure work experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be committed to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with borrower, clients, attorneys, other internal employees, and outside parties.
  • Must be able to work with others in a congenial and team-oriented manner.
  • Must possess exceptional organizational skills; the position requires the ability to multitask and be adaptable to continual change.
  • Ability to read and write at a high level for proof reading and editing purposes.
  • High-level proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Proficiency in internet research activities.
  • Familiarity with case and document management software
  • Experience with client systems such as Loansphere, Lenstar, Clairfire, Tempo, Vendorscape and others is preferred.
  • Good understanding of the legal process surrounding foreclosure preferred.
  • Experience with drafting legal documents and pleadings, such as complaints and motions
  • Experience with Title review and Title resolution preferred; but not required.
  • Ability to proficiently operate computer, fax machine, scanner, photocopier, typewriter, and telephone is required.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
