The Opportunity:

Hitachi Energy is recruiting a Paralegal (Legal Assistant). In this capacity, you will be part of our Legal Operations Team. You will actively support the Global Legal & Integrity Team, which includes the Office of Special Investigation (“OSI”).  As an organizational talent, you take care of our customers in the background, handling documents and urgent matters.

How You´ll Make an Impact:

  • Assist lawyers in the preparation of documents including the drafting, reviewing and amending materials such as contracts, memorandums and non-disclosure agreements.

  • Assist in editing and proofreading various contracts and draft legal correspondence.

  • Identify and mitigate risks and opportunities, ensuring delivery of a document with high quality.

  • Summarize key provisions from contracts.

  • Be part of the further development of services towards the legal & integrity function.

  • Support OSI/Compliance global team in their investigations: interview note taking & preparing statements.

  • Provide support in conflict resolution cases (non-integrity) and HR-referred cases.

  • Quality assurance on a selection of cases.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law.

  • Experience in related work area, focusing on contracts/NDAs.

  • Experience in international contracts is desirable.

  • Experience with compliance investigations and tools like Navex, Relativity, Zylab etc, is a plus.

  • Proficient with Microsoft O365, specifically, MS Lists, Teams, Word, and Excel.

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, manage time-sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.

  • Great attention to detail.

  • Excellent organizational skills and excellent understanding of contracts and legal terminology.

  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is mandatory (interviews will be done in English). Spanish is highly desirable, as this position will involve significant interaction across the Latin American region.
