Legal & Compliance Administrator
Location: Durbanville, Cape Town, South Africa | Full-Time | On-Site
We are seeking a Legal & Compliance Administrator to join our Legal Department in Cape Town. This role is ideal for a highly organized professional who enjoys working with contracts, compliance processes, and legal operations. You will play a critical role in supporting contract administration, compliance tracking, insurance documentation, and legal department operations while collaborating with teams across legal, procurement, HR, finance, and operations.
What You'll Do
Contract Administration & Legal Operations
Compliance & Regulatory Support
Support trade compliance initiatives, including USMCA compliance analysis and documentation tracking. Maintain insurance, regulatory, and compliance records. Assist with audits by gathering documentation and responding to information requests. Monitor compliance reporting requirements and support ongoing regulatory obligations.
Documentation & Communication
Draft legal correspondence, notices, and standard communications. Prepare legal summaries, reports, presentations, and supporting documentation. Administrative Support
Manage legal intake requests and coordinate matter routing. Support project tracking, departmental calendars, and legal operations initiatives. Assist with invoice processing and outside counsel billing administration. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within legal and contract workflows. What We're Looking For
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Arts, Law, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
2–5 years of experience in legal administration, contracts administration, compliance, procurement support, or a similar corporate environment. Skills & Competencies
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Ability to generate, interpret, and analyze reports. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
