The Legal Intern will support the Legal and Compliance functions across a variety of focus areas throughout the internship program. Primary responsibilities include assisting with employment-related legislative research, subcontractor contract reviews, and updates to corporate records.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited law school
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated problem solving and collaboration abilities
Eagerness to learn and contribute within a mission-oriented environment
Dependable, punctual, and able to follow established procedures
Team oriented mindset
Adaptable with a positive, helpful attitude
General understanding of employment laws/concepts, research skills, and knowledge of how to populate a spreadsheet.
Familiar with contract review and analysis, utilization of data quantification tools including Excel
General understanding of corporate law, attention to detail, organizational skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Employment Legislative Research
Monitor legislative and regulatory developments across states where the organization employs CMRNs
Create a detailed worksheet detailing employment changes from approximately 21 states
Subcontractor Flow-Down Contract Clauses
Review Research Division customer MSAs to identify required contractual clauses
Create and maintain a comprehensive spreadsheet of obligations, including:
Insurance coverage requirements and limits
Record retention requirements
Debarment and compliance status
Other flow-down provisions
Corporate Records Management
Assist with updating corporate records in CSC and CLM systems to reflect recent name changes
Help prepare accurate corporate books documentation to respond to UBO and other Legal/Compliance requests
Collaborate with Compliance to execute action items resulting from compliance audits
Additional Responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned to support the Legal and Compliance departments
