
ASML's Privacy & AI Compliance Office, based in Veldhoven, is seeking a dynamic and motivated intern to join our team. Our global team, consisting of 12 dedicated colleagues, is part of the larger Legal & Compliance department, which includes over 100 professionals. Our office serves as the central hub for all privacy & personal data protection and AI compliance matters within ASML. We have adopted a dual-layer approach by establishing a dedicated Privacy Office that collaborates closely with a Privacy Network spread across the business.
As an Intern, you will actively participate in our team's daily operations and contribute to our strategic initiatives, including the development of an AI Compliance program. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn about privacy, data protection, AI compliance, and how to navigate a large global organization through collaboration with experienced colleagues. Your tasks will be varied and tailored to your background and preferences, ensuring a challenging and enriching experience.
Key deliverables (might) include:
Supporting the risk assessment processes;
Advising on questions concerning personal data processing activities;
Assisting in the development and embedding of an AI Compliance program;
Contributing to strategic initiatives aimed at continuously improving the team's way of working, such as drafting a communications plan for training and awareness or defining a strategy for embedding privacy requirements in the business’ processes and technology;
Assisting with executing the data subject rights procedure;
Researching new and ongoing regulatory and legal developments, determining their relevance to ASML, and presenting findings to our team;
This master internship (non-thesis) is for 3-5 days per week (minimum 2 days working at the office in Veldhoven), duration of months 6-12 months. The start date of this assignment is preferably June.
To be a perfect match for this internship, you:
Are enrolled in a Master program such as, but not limited to, AI & Privacy Law, Information Sciences, (Digital) Technology Law, Communications, European Law, Computer Sciences, Artificial Intelligence, or something related;
Are a team player with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work autonomously;
Possess effective communication skills and the ability to connect with relevant stakeholders;
Have excellent organizational and project management skills and attention to detail;
Be proactive, self-motivated and able to independently prioritize your workload
Other requirements you need to meet:
You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;
You need to be located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter needs to include the willingness to relocate.
If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
