Job Description

We are looking for a Legal advisor or Lawyer to join our partner, excelling in the energy segment as they expand quickly. (Office will be in Budapest + home office)
Location: Budapest + Flexible Home Office options

KEY DUTIES:

• actively supporting the daily operations of the company, primarily in the areas of energy sector regulation, compliance with regulations affecting the Company and within the corporate group, and issues related to electricity and natural gas trading;
• handling civil law, labor law, competition law, and corporate law questions;
• maintenance of energy trading contracts and business regulations, standardization of documents, and handling of individual transactions (e.g., drafting commercial contracts tailored to individual client needs, PPAs related to energy procurement, EFETs, ISDA terms);
• liaison with authorities, handling regulatory procedures (e.g., licensing, notices, data reporting), participation in industry-wide consultations;
• assisting in handling customer complaints, dispute resolution, and enforcement of the Company’s claims;
• monitoring domestic and international laws, regulatory activities, and market trends relevant to the Company to ensure compliance;
• proactive process improvement and transferring best practices to the Company’s organizations;
• providing legal and regulatory support for projects ongoing within the Company.

ADVANTAGE:

• Legal or regulatory experience in energy trading
• Broad experience in handling general legal matters
• Digital affinity
• High-level professional English language skills, confidently used in spoken and written forms (preparation of English documents, reports, summaries, and for the purpose of communication with the corporate group)

REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in the energy sector
• Up-to-date knowledge of the regulatory environment in the energy industry
• Independent, effective, and confident work performance
• Ability to independently identify, structure, and prioritize tasks
• Openness to new solutions and process improvements
• Collaborative and communicative skills needed to provide legal and regulatory support, working with colleagues at all levels of the organization, across various company areas, with authorities, and with clients
