We are actively searching for a fully remote Legal Administrative Assistant (Legal Secretary) to join our team in our New York, New York / New Brunswick, New Jersey offices Our legal administrative assistants play a vital role on our case teams and are respected for their ideas and contributions. The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. Your confidence and communication skills will help you develop strong professional relationships with our team.
Requirements
Skills:
· Prepare legal documents and correspondence
· File documents in state and federal courts
· Prepare binders for attorneys and judges
· Create and save documents and emails to iManage (document management system) in accordance with firm policy
· Experience with obtaining documents from online court directories
· Schedule meetings and other calendar commitments
· Calendaring legal due dates in CompuLaw
· Make travel arrangements and process expense reports
· Process client disbursements and AP invoices
· Organize and maintain case files
· Supporting overall Bowman and Brooke administrative needs by assisting team members where needed
Qualifications:
· Exceptional organizational and communication skills
· Exceptional computer skills
· Ability to work overtime when the need arises
· Heavy computer use
Education and Experience:
· Minimum of 5+ years of legal experience required
· Civil Litigation experience required
· Knowledge of New York and New Jersey rules and procedures preferred
· Demonstrated employment stability
