
Must‑Have Requirements
Strong hands‑on experience in COBOL programming
Ability to develop, enhance, debug, and optimize COBOL batch and online programs.
Expertise in JCL (Job Control Language)
Should be able to write, modify, analyze JCL and troubleshoot abends (system/program errors).
Solid working knowledge of DB2
Experience with SQL queries, stored procedures, performance tuning, and DB2 data handling from COBOL.
Experience with CICS and VSAM
Skilled in developing/maintaining CICS online transactions and using VSAM files (KSDS/ESDS/RRDS).
Core banking domain knowledge
Good‑to‑Have Requirements
Knowledge of Mainframe utilities and tools e.g., File-AID, Abend-AID, Expeditor, SMP/E, Endevor, CHANGEMAN.
Understanding of SDLC, Agile, and DevOps concepts
Familiarity with source code management, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing on mainframe.
Performance tuning and system optimization skills
Tuning DB2 SQL, COBOL programs, and JCL job performance.
Experience in integration and modernization projects
API/REST integration with mainframe, migration to cloud/mainframe reengineering, or modernization tools.
