The role of an academic is both challenging and rewarding. Beyond possessing the necessary knowledge and skillsets, the ideal candidate must have a genuine passion for working with youth, nurturing their growth, and shaping their character. The position offers opportunities to develop curricula, introduce new courses, and participate in consultancy and applied research projects. In this role, the appointee will contribute to the school's strategic objectives by building and strengthening industry partnerships, driving innovation, and promoting Sustainability Engineering. Administrative responsibilities related to teaching and supporting the School's or Institution's strategic initiatives will also be integral to the job. The ideal candidate should be resourceful, with good communication skills, innovative with the ability to inspire and engage others.

The appointee will be part of our course management group, thereby engaging the industry to seek collaboration & internship opportunities, promote our continuing education training (CET) programmes, outreach and identify industry trends.

The appointee must be competent to teach in the following related subjects:
• Thermofluids
• Fluid Mechanics
• Engineering Thermodynamics
• Introduction to Sustainability Reporting and Strategies

[What you will be working on]

Responsibilities:-

  • Provide administrative support in the running of the diploma course and general school operations
  • Collaborate with industry to enhance students’ learning through activities such as industry field trips, student-industry projects, internship program and overseas programme
  • Develop modules and conduct both industry-relevant full-time and part-time courses for internal stakeholders, students and industry personnel
  • Inspire, facilitate and guide students through effective learning activities
  • Serve as a personal tutor, providing pastoral care for students
  • Organise outreach activities

[What we are looking for]

Requirements:

  • Relevant work experience in thermal systems and Sustainability Development related field.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Self-driven and independent team player
  • Passionate about education and possess a strong interest in teaching and mentoring both young adults and adult learners
  • Relevant qualifications in the field of Mechanical Engineering/Building Services/Facility Management/Sustainability Engineering or related areas of study
  • Applicants with an ISO Lead Auditor Certification will be advantageous.

Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
