YOUR ROLE

This is a teaching-focused position. However, theLecturer is expected to contribute toboth theteaching and research efforts of the University, in disciplines related to their field ofexpertise Specifically, theLectureris responsible forcarrying out teaching activities within undergraduate,Honours,and Graduate Diploma programs and formaintainingand advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities.

TheLecturer is also expected to actively promote the program byestablishingand maintaining memberships,linksand partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities.

The Lectureris expected to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the teaching team, and update colleagues and students on developments in their subject area orspecialization

The Lecturerwillbe responsible forcourse coordination.

Reports to Program Manager,Psychology

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Undergraduate teaching including designing,conductingand moderating assessment; implementing improvements informed by peer review, courseevaluationand/or student feedback.
  • Professional activities and/or peer-reviewed research activitiesappropriate tothe discipline including publishing research results in high-quality outlets as lead or co-author.
  • Membership of committees, working parties or other service duties asrequired
  • Adhere to the requirements of the Academic Expectations and Development Framework of RMIT Vietnam.

OUR REQUIREMENTS

  • APhDdegree in the relevant disciplineDemonstrated ability to prepare and deliver programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including online delivery, and the ability to producehigh-qualitycurriculum or program materials.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively withPsychology staff from Melbourne for teaching and research.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of requisite content, psychological research, and writing skills for course/s taught withinundergraduate Psychology programs.Havingexperience in teachinga wide range of Undergraduate courses such as Introduction to Psychology, Social Psychology,Forensic Psychology,and courses related to Clinical Psychology(such as Psychopathology, Psychological Assessment,Counseling…)is desirable.
  • Ability to build effective networks with colleagues and generate alternative funding projects through effective liaison with industry and government.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skillsappropriate forinteracting with higherdegreeby research candidates,staffand industry, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Recent and sustained performanceregardingstudent outcomes, studentexperienceand feedback; combined with experience and skill in a range of teaching settings.
  • Ability to displayappropriate behavioursin line with RMIT Values (Imagination, Agility, Courage, Passion, Impact, Inclusion)

All academic appointments at RMIT Vietnam must meet University and local regulatory requirements, including English proficiency, background checks, and (for international candidates) eligibility for a work permit.

English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS (Academic) with a score of at least 7.0 with no competency less than 6.5 (or equivalent, as outlined in the Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding Guidelines).
