Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

You will undertake original research in hydrology. You will also contribute to the teaching, postgraduate supervision and administrative requirements of the School within the Earth and Environmental Sciences Team. You will be comfortable teaching hydrology and environmental science to undergraduate to masters level students.

The current salary for Lecturer is in the range of $92,603 to $110,407, and for Senior Lecturer Range 1 is $113,408 to $132,042. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours a week) continuing role based on our Hillcrest Campus.

  • PhD in a relevant discipline
  • A track record of high-quality research publications
  • Demonstrated teaching skills at tertiary level, including a commitment to effective student learning and to teaching innovation
  • Ability to contribute to the graduate and postgraduate programme including the supervision of Honours, Masters and PhD students.
  • Ability to attract research funding.
  • A proven ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
  • Awareness of the value of Mātauranga Māori in science, and the value of Kaupapa Māori approaches to teaching.

You will be a proactive and self-motivated professional who works effectively as part of a team and builds positive, respectful relationships with staff and students from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
