The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at St. Mary's College of Maryland is accepting applications for the position of Lecturer, begining in August 2026. The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
St. Mary's College of Maryland, the National Public honors College, is located in Historic St. Mary's City, 70 miles southeast of Washington, D.C. Non-sectarian since its founding, the college with its scenic waterfront campus is primarily undergraduate and residential, with a diverse coeducational student body numbering approximately 1600. Applicants must have a master’s degree in Mathematics or related field and be prepared to teach across the undergraduate curriculum, particularly calculus, precalculus, and introductory statistics. Candidates from underrepresented groups (including women) are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate enjoys close interaction with students in small class settings characteristic of the liberal arts tradition. They hold students to high academic standards and remain sensitive to the varied backgrounds and circumstances students bring to the classroom. Applicants are expected to speak to these qualities in their cover letter and teaching philosophy statement. A record of teaching in a liberal arts setting is desirable. The teaching load is four courses per semester.
