We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Lecturer in Health & Social Care to join our curriculum team at Cadbury College on a fixed-term basis. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and support students preparing for careers within the health and care sector.

As a Lecturer in Health & Social Care, you will deliver engaging and high-quality teaching across a range of programmes, helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for progression into employment or further study.

You will contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and student support while creating an inclusive and motivating learning environment that enables learners to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Health & Social Care lessons
  • Develop engaging teaching materials and learning resources
  • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback
  • Monitor and track learner progress and achievement
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and quality improvement
  • Provide academic and pastoral support to students
  • Maintain accurate academic and administrative records
  • Participate in team meetings, CPD, and college events
  • Use ILT and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential

  • Degree or relevant qualification in Health & Social Care or related subject
  • Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
  • Experience delivering high-quality teaching and learning
  • Strong subject knowledge within the health and care sector
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire learners
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding


Desirable

  • Experience teaching Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications
  • Industry experience within health or social care settings
  • Experience working within Further Education



Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding


To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£31,837 - £48,160), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:
Accepted Qualifications:

  • DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
  • Certificate in Education
  • PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
  • ProfGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate in Education)
  • DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
  • DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject

If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£26,661 - £29,998)
Not Accepted as Stand Alone Qualifications:

  • PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
  • CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
  • CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)
  • SFHEA (Senior Fellowship)
  • Masters in Education
  • TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language)

Central Campus Sandwell College is one of the newest FE Colleges in the UK and is a landmark for the development of education and training in the region.
