This role will require a presence of at least 3-4 days a week on our Birmingham campus, with 1 day working from home to suit the student timetable. You maybe required to be on campus 5 days a week in some cases, based on teaching and meeting requirements. Our hybrid working model arrangements are a non-contractual benefit which could changes at any point during your employment, so please note that an Arden work location is added to our employment contracts.

The School of Foundation Year – Business plays an important role in helping students take their first steps into higher education and build the confidence, knowledge and academic skills needed to succeed on their chosen degree.
Our Business pathway introduces students to the fundamentals of the modern business environment, exploring areas such as management, finance, digital marketing, innovation and data. Alongside subject knowledge, we place a strong emphasis on developing academic skills, critical thinking and confidence, helping students from a wide range of backgrounds prepare for university-level study.

We are currently looking for a number of Lecturers to join us to support with the delivery of our Foundation Year - Business course. This will include 16 hours of teaching (4 groups), academic support including office hours and tutorials and facilitating the cover rota in campus. You will be expected to go to campus 3-4 days a week to suit the student timetable.
Responsibilities within our academic programmes include:
We are looking for individuals who understand challenges to student engagement in a university setting and have experience of teaching Foundation Year / academic skills. You must be positive and empathetic to dealing with student issues, ensuring we further engage students with their studies and ensuring positive student outcomes. Our Foundation Year has Business and Social Sciences pathways.
We welcome applications from those with an academic background in teaching some of the following subject areas: academic skills, assessment support, and service industry (health and care management and hospitality/tourism). An interest in AI in education, or enterprise/innovation would be advantageous.
