This role operates on a hybrid working arrangement that will require 3/4 days travel into our Nottingham campus. This may fluctuate in line with business requirements. Our working model arrangements are a non-contractual benefit so please note that an Arden work location is added to our employment contracts.

We are seeking passionate Computing Lecturers to join our innovative team within our school of Applied Technology and AI (SATAI). Our lecturers are designing and delivering cutting-edge programmes that aim to meet the evolving needs of employers and prepare graduates for tomorrow’s challenges.

The Role

As a Computing Lecturer, you will be part of a dedicated academic team operating across Arden’s study centres, committed to delivering an exceptional student experience. Through our blended learning approach, you will support students via flexible daytime and evening teaching sessions while contributing to the continuous enhancement of our programmes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering inspiring and student-centred teaching on campus.
  • Providing module leadership to maintain high academic standards and support curriculum development.
  • Creating and assessing coursework, ensuring fair and rigorous marking practices alongside high-quality learner feedback.
  • Reviewing and developing module content to reflect evolving industry trends and workforce needs.
  • Collaborating with academic colleagues to provide effective student guidance and pastoral support.
  • Driving continuous improvement through innovative approaches to teaching, learning, and assessment

About You

To be successful as a Lecturer in Computing here at Arden you must have:

  • A Master’s Degree or equivalent professional qualification in a Computing Science or related discipline
  • Act as a Named PAC: Manage a defined caseload of students, acting as their primary academic point of contact.
  • You must have a recognised HE Teaching Qualification and /or Advance HE Fellowship at FHEA/SFHEA level or demonstrate commitment to gain this recognition within 12 months of appointment

Proven experience in delivering engaging teaching across Levels 4 to 7 in at least 3 of the following areas:

  • Programming (Python, Java)
  • Database
  • Operating Systems/Networking
  • Digital Business/Ethics
  • IT Project Management
  • Data Analysis/Big Data/AI
  • Cloud Computing
  • HCI/UX/Web Development
  • Cyber Security
  • Ideally, industry experience in the subject relevant to the teaching area
  • Experience in using diverse teaching techniques in both face-to-face teaching and online platforms.
