Coleg Sir Gâr and Coleg Ceredigion are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and learner-focused Lecturer in Computing to join our Computing team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced lecturer or computing professional who is passionate about developing the next generation of digital and technology professionals. You will deliver engaging, inclusive and high-quality teaching and learning, supporting learners to develop the technical knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours required to progress into employment, apprenticeships or Higher Education.

As a Lecturer in Computing, you will play an important role in ensuring that our curriculum remains current, innovative and responsive to developments within the rapidly changing digital sector. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, employers and industry partners to provide learners with meaningful opportunities to apply their knowledge and develop the skills required by industry.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across a range of Computing programmes.
  • Support learners to achieve their qualifications and make successful progression into employment, apprenticeships or further and higher-level study.
  • Teach across relevant areas of Computing, which may include programming, cybersecurity, networking, software development and emerging digital technologies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments within Computing and use this to ensure teaching and learning remains current and industry relevant.
  • Develop learners' practical, technical and problem-solving skills through applied and project-based learning.

What you will need

We are looking for someone who:
  • Has a degree or equivalent higher-level qualification in Computing or a closely related discipline.
  • Holds a recognised teaching qualification, or is willing to work towards one where appropriate.
  • Has strong technical knowledge within one or more areas of Computing.
  • Can demonstrate how industry developments and new technologies can be incorporated effectively into teaching and curriculum development.
  • Has strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Can work collaboratively with colleagues, employers, industry partners and other stakeholders.
  • Is committed to high standards of learner experience, achievement and progression.
