The Division of Humanities of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) invites applications for a teaching track faculty position in Music. The appointee will mainly teach undergraduate music courses in humanities and the arts for general education, participate in the development of the undergraduate major program in Global China Studies offered by the School of Humanities and Social Science; and assist in the administration of all forms of creative arts education programs supported by the Division, or jointly offered with other offices and institutes of the University.

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided, where applicable. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract. (Duration : 1 to 2 years, renewable)
Applicants should be dynamic and energetic person who have a doctoral degree in the field of Music, such as Doctor of Musical Arts, PhD, or Doctor of Fine Arts in a related area. The application is open to all areas of expertise. Special consideration will be given to candidates who work in the field of ethnomusicology and those in the field of performance, both as practitioners and educators; those who have experience in teaching undergraduate music courses, particularly music theory, composition, music history, and general music appreciation, and those with a solid professional career as a practicing artist. The successful applicant may also be required to take part in organizing concerts and other art events on campus; relevant experience is advantagenous.
