Job Description
The College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences invites applications for a Lecturer to advance the continued growth and impact of the Engineering Leadership Minor This non-tenure track faculty position focused on high-quality instruction, experiential learning, and curriculum innovation that equips students to lead in interdisciplinary, and innovation-driven environments.
The ideal candidate brings both professional experience from industry and a expertise in preparing students to become forward-thinking leaders who can navigate complexity, lead technical teams, and create value through ethical, strategic, and systems-based approaches.
Instruction and Student Support
- Teach core and elective courses in the Engineering Leadership Minor, emphasizing leadership, communication, ethics, innovation, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Design and facilitate project-based and experience-rich learning environments that challenge students to think critically, work across boundaries, and develop their own leadership voice.
Continuous Improvement:
- Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to continuously evolve and align the curriculum with industry needs and emerging challenges in the engineering profession.
- Translate real-world experience into actionable insights for students, fostering both technical competence and leadership confidence.
- Supports assessment and program development efforts that position the Engineering Leadership Minor as a national model.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Significant professional experience in engineering, leadership, or related fields.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, training, or leading experiential learning initiatives.
- Proven ability to connect classroom learning to real-world practice, including experience in team leadership, project management, or innovation.
- Commitment to inclusive teaching and to preparing students for meaningful, values-driven leadership in the engineering workforce.
