Positions are part-time, temporary, non-tenure, and contingent upon course offerings, sufficient student enrollment, position clearance, and availability of funds. Must be available to teach courses during the day, evening, weekend, and/or via distance learning/on- & off-campus (e.g., clinical settings), as needed. Duties and Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, design, deliver, and assess instruction in terms of student learning outcomes; teach assigned courses in the undergraduate dental hygiene program; develop and/or update course content and materials; use teaching strategies to meet the college's diverse students learning needs; submit annual self-assessment; mentor and assist students; complete grades on a timely basis; attend faculty meetings and other duties that the supervisor assigns.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited college or university; with five (5) years of experience in area of teaching responsibility;
  • Current unrestricted Dental Hygienist;
  • Engaged in professional practice with a similar patient population and level of patient acuity for the purpose of supervising nursing students;
  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively and to direct group discussion;
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clinical supervision to dental hygiene students.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with a bachelor's level dental hygiene curriculum.
  • Previous teaching experience with teaching and/or supervising undergraduate dental hygiene students including didactic and clinical courses.
