
[What the role is]
This is a 2-year contract position as a Lecturer, Biomedical Engineering in the School of Engineering.
[What you will be working on]
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Involvement in developing curriculum, facilitating student learning, conducting assessment and performing tasks for modules related to Biomedical Engineering.
Spearhead and identify new opportunities and collaboration with industry.
Undertake administrative tasks related to course management.
Work on consultancy project to stay relevant in your profession.
Lead or support applied R&D projects in collaboration with healthcare institutions and industry partners, focusing on assistive and rehabilitative technologies, wearable health monitoring systems, diagnostic devices, AI and data analytics in healthcare, 3D printing or rapid prototyping for medical applications
Develop functional prototypes and demonstrators for teaching, research, and clinical validation.
Support student development in the area of education.
[What we are looking for]
Relevant qualification in Biomedical Engineering, with at least 3 years of relevant industry experience in the areas of engineering design and development and/or manufacturing of medical technologies, including biomedical devices. Specifically, experiences in assistive/rehabilitation technology and/or wearable monitoring devices will be advantageous.
Passionate about education and possess strong interest in nurturing, teaching, mentoring and interacting with students.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-driven, independent and possess readiness to work as a team.
