[What the role is]

Lecturer (Architectural Technology & Building Services) / School of Engineering

[What you will be working on]

  • Design, develop and deliver industry-relevant curriculum, courseware and e-learning for full-time and part-time programmes, incorporating innovative and sustainable practices to strengthen integration across architectural, mechanical and electrical disciplines.
  • Lead and supervise student projects, work-based learning and internships to enhance industry exposure and build practical competencies aligned with sector needs.
  • Collaborate with industry partners to support student projects and internships, fostering applied learning and strengthening engagement in Built Environment innovation and sustainability.
  • Support academic administration, committee work, outreach initiatives and local or overseas study trips to enhance programme quality and student experience.
  • Counsel, coach and mentor students in academic development, competitions, career planning and personal growth to support holistic learning and professional readiness.
  • Work with industry partners and alumni to enrich learning through study trips, networking opportunities and alumni engagement, broadening students’ industry and global perspectives.

[What we are looking for]

  • Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Science, or a related Built Environment discipline.
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in a building, mechanical or electrical consultancy environment.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in green or sustainable Built Environment projects.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in building performance simulation for environmental impact analysis, energy efficiency and occupant well-being.
  • Relevant experience in the application of Building Information Modelling (BIM) for integrated project delivery, coordination and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation and technical documentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, industry partners and stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities and adapt to evolving academic and industry requirements.
  • Demonstrated passion for education, with a commitment to mentoring, coaching and engaging meaningfully with learners.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in sustainability, Built Environment, engineering, project management or related disciplines (preferred).
  • Professional certifications such as GMAP, LEED AP, WELL AP, EDGE Expert or GRI Certified Sustainability Professional (preferred).
  • Certifications or demonstrated expertise in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud or other industry-recognised BIM/CDE platforms (preferred).
  • Experience in innovation-driven or sustainability-focused projects within the Built Environment sector.
