Arthrex Human Resources team in Ave Maria is currently recruiting for a Leave Specialist II to support our manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for administering all types of leaves of absence (LOA), including family and medical leave, paid parental leave, military leave, jury duty, bereavement leave, and both short term and long term disability. The Leaves team partners closely with the company’s disability carriers to ensure employees receive accurate pay while on leave and to maintain consistent, compliant absence management aligned with company standards and industry best practices. We are seeking candidates with a strong interest in Leave administration and a passion for supporting employees throughout the leave process This role operates in a high volume environment, requiring a candidate with exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.Two years of Human Resources experience and a bachelor’s degree will be essential for the position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Advises employees and leadership on the interpretation of leave policies, programs, and procedures, including those in the company’s Employee Resource Guide (ERG).
• Manage all aspects of the leave of absence process, including FMLA, parental, medical, bereavement, jury duty and personal leaves, ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state laws and company policies.
• Educate leadership and employees on LOA policies & procedures ensuring compliance with federal and state leave laws and meeting business requirements.
• Responsible for maintenance of absence management system and processes.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
• Communicate with employees regarding their need for leave and ensure employees know their rights and responsibilities, the required documentation and qualifications for leave.
• Manages the leave administration process from initial notice to returning to work, include determining leave eligibility, designation of leave, requesting required documentation and tracking leave entitlement.
• Maintains reasonable communication with employees on leave and communicates status updates to their managers.
• Advises employees on the coordination of leave laws with paid time off & Company policy paid leave benefits.
• Administers other Company leave benefits, Jury Duty & Bereavement, in accordance with internal policy and applicable laws.
• Maintains complete and accurate records of leave requests in accordance with legal requirements and documentation best practices.
• Preserves confidentiality of employee medical documentation.
• Provides feedback and information to the Leaves Specialist III and/or Sr regarding daily absence issues presented by employees.
• Responsible for managing the Arthrex HRLeaves inbox.
• Monitors and maintains Leaves of Absence intranet and update Forms & Documents as needed.
• May assist with managing more complex leaves and employees’ issues.
• Participates in weekly/bi-weekly LOA meetings with Employee Relations.
Education/ Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of two years of Human Resources experience required.
• One year absence management experience is preferred.
• Experience with AbsenceSoft and SAP is a plus.
Skills:
• Ability to effectively manage one’s time and handle multiple priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office programs required.
• Ability to learn new systems quickly to perform most job functions.
• Ability to communicate ideas, results, recommendations, and status effectively in oral and written forms.
• Ability to work independently and effectively with cross functional teams.
• Ability to speak with employees at all levels within the organization.
• Ability to analyze data and provide reasoning for improvements.
• May provide general administrative support as needed including special projects as assigned.
• Provides guidance to the Time & Attendance Administration team on all time and attendance related to leaves of absence.
• Supports LOA training for leadership and employees, when applicable.
Knowledge:
• Advanced knowledge of Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
• General understanding of Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD).
• General knowledge & application of Company HR policies.
Reasoning Ability:
• Ability to identify and provide solutions to problems and draw valid conclusions.
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive medical and personal employee information and exercises good judgment and reasoning required.
• Ability to handle situations during a crisis.
