Leasing Consultant

Reports To: Community Manager
Location: Orlando, FL Region | On-site Role

The Opportunity

As a Leasing Consultant, your primary focus is leasing apartments, generating prospective resident traffic, and creating an exceptional experience from the first interaction through move-in.

You will use sales, communication, follow-up, and relationship-building skills to turn leads into tours, tours into applications, and applications into leases. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, providing excellent customer service, resolving concerns, and working toward sales goals.

Previous multifamily experience is helpful but not required We welcome candidates with experience in sales, customer service, hospitality, retail, or other customer-facing roles who are motivated to succeed in a sales-focused environment.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct engaging tours of the property, including the community, amenities, model apartment, and available apartment homes.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to phone, email, online, and walk-in leads.
  • Ask questions to understand each prospect's apartment needs, preferences, budget, and desired move-in date.
  • Build rapport with prospective residents and create a welcoming first impression.
  • Turn inquiries into scheduled apartment tours through timely communication and follow-up.
  • Confidently showcaseavailable homes, community amenities, and features based on each prospect's needs.
  • Explain pricing, availability, community information, and the application process clearly and accurately.
  • Follow up consistently with prospects to encourage tours, applications, and leases.
  • Address basic questions or objections, help prospects evaluate their options, and confidently ask for the sale.
  • Work toward monthly leasing, traffic, application, and occupancy goals.
  • Generate prospective resident traffic through outreach, resident referrals, networking, local marketing, and social media.
  • Support social media and other marketing efforts that promote the community, events, amenities, and available apartments.
  • Guide prospects through the application and leasing process while maintaining clear and timely communication.
  • Help create a smooth and welcoming move-in experience for new residents.
  • Provide responsive and professional customer service to prospective and current residents.
  • Listen to resident questions and concerns, remain professional during difficult interactions, and connect residents with the appropriate team member when additional support is needed.
  • Maintain accurate prospect information and follow-up notes in the company's leasing, CRM, or property management system.
  • Keep the leasing office, model apartment, available homes, and tour route clean, neat, organized, and ready for visitors.
  • Work closely with the Community Manager, maintenance team, and other community team members to support the resident experience.
  • Follow Fair Housing requirements, leasing procedures, and company policies.

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience in leasing, sales, customer service, hospitality, retail, or another customer-facing environment is preferred.
  • Sales-minded and motivated by achieving leasing and occupancy goals.
  • Friendly, outgoing, and confident when speaking with prospective and current residents.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to listen, ask effective questions, and explain information clearly.
  • Comfortable building relationships and helping customers make informed decisions.
  • Comfortable asking for the sale and encouraging qualified prospects to take the next step.
  • Persistent and consistent with customer follow-up.
  • Customer-service focused and genuinely interested in helping people.
  • Able to remain professional when addressing customer concerns or resolving conflict.
  • Creative and comfortable supporting social media, outreach, marketing, and traffic-generation activities.
  • Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable using computers and learning leasing, CRM, and property management systems.
  • Able to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities and respond to customers with a sense of urgency.
  • Available to work weekends and a flexible schedule based on the needs of the community.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Achieves leasing goals while creating an experience that makes prospects excited to call the community home.
