We’re looking for a warm, positive, and adaptable person to join our Additional Learning Support Team. This is a role where you’ll make a real difference every day, supporting students with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities, helping them grow in confidence, enjoy their learning, and achieve things they’re proud of.
What you'll do
- Provide friendly, tailored support to students in and out of the classroom, in line with their Additional Learning Support Plan
- Work closely with teaching staff to ensure each student receives the right support for their needs
- Support the assessment process for students with learning difficulties or disabilities, including contributing to support plans
- Help review student progress and support plans, including termly reviews
- Share feedback and, where appropriate, suggest changes to support arrangements
- Be flexible in working across different college sites, activities, trips, and learning environments
- Keep clear, accurate records using college systems to support student progress
What you'll bring
- 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English
- Understanding of different learning difficulties and disabilities, and how they can affect young people in college
- Awareness of equality legislation and the importance of inclusive practice
- Good understanding of how to create a welcoming, inclusive learning environment
- Knowledge of safeguarding and supporting student wellbeing
- Experience keeping clear and accurate records and tracking student progress
- Experience assessing learners’ needs and providing the right support
- Experience supporting individuals or small groups in different settings
Nice to have:
Qualification in areas like youth work, childcare, equality and diversity, or learning support is a bonus

- Strong communicator with the ability to build positive relationships
- Confident using IT, including MS Office
