About the role

  • This role is accountable in supporting and enabling the delivery of key strategic learning programmes across Business and within L&D.
  • The role will support our Learning Manager, Design Manager, Senior Learning Manager and Senior Design Manager roles within Business L&D.
  • The role manages and oversees a varied range of learning projects, learning programmes and learning initiatives that ensure efficient and effective execution of projects, initiatives and day-to-day operation across L&D. The role is central to deploying, driving, embedding, sustaining and measuring learning.
  • The role is a pivotal operational interface between key operational stakeholders (HR, learning partnering, learning design, learning delivery and 3rd party vendors and suppliers). Reporting into the L&D Operations Manager, the role is responsible for reporting and governance that enables the L&D function to operate efficiently and effectively.
  • The role proactively drives and enables solutions, bringing CI thinking and operational excellence to the L&D function.

What you’ll be doing

  • In partnership with your project sponsor, define, document and execute learning projects and initiatives, agreeing project approach, quality measures, milestones, timescales, outputs, etc
  • Establish trust with stakeholders: expressed through clear communication, a comprehensive plan of approach, strong focus on the outcomes to be achieved as well as attention paid to detail throughout
  • Deliver learning solutions to pre-determined time, scope and quality the constraints, ensuring projects are delivered in line with agreed SLAs and contractual terms, working with 3rd party suppliers as and when required.
  • Issue and risk management around quality, timescales, resources etc. assessing and recommending actions where variances from the plan occur with strong focus on the outcomes to be achieved
  • Overseeing L&D reporting process and producing cyclical and adhoc reports as required, providing pro-active insight and trend analysis where appropriate
  • Deploy bespoke communications and engagement plans and associated activities as defined
  • Facilitate and develop effective working relationships between members of the L&D team, the business, the customer and any 3rd party partner vendors, handling issues, problems andopportunities as they arise
  • Executes the learning plan e.g., working with 3rd party vendors, Group colleagues, other CFUs, internal trainers, designers, other LPP etc. This may include running demonstrations and presentations to stakeholders.
  • Sets, drives and feeds into project governance activity for all projects and activities (int. and ext.)
  • Working with relevant stakeholder, evaluates learning plans in line with success criteria
  • Identifies opportunities to bring synergies across projects to drive efficiency and effectiveness

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Project Management - PM practitioner experience / qualification (APM or Prince2) preferred
  • Excellent stakeholder management capability – the ability to work at all levels within the organisation, managing stakeholder expectations through project life cycles
  • Key characteristics: Leader mindset, rigorous, organised, pro-active, result driven, eye for detail

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Data proficiency: strong skills in building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business audiences
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel - data base, data modelling, analytics
  • Strong communication skills – written, verbal, high levels of Emotional Intelligence
  • Continuous Improvement mindset with experience of process improvement
