What we do:

Everyone has an idea of what a water company does. Here in Yorkshire, we make sure that over 5.4 million people living in the region and the millions of people who visit our region each year, can rely on our services, and have clean and safe drinking water on tap and that their wastewater is taken away. But for us, it’s so much more than this.

We look after communities, protect the environment, and plan to look after Yorkshire’s water, today, tomorrow 24/7, 365 days a year. We provide essential water and wastewater services to every corner of the Yorkshire region, and play a key role in the region’s health, wellbeing, and prosperity.

New environmental legislation, unprecedented levels of investment and changing expectations from customers means that this is an exciting time to discover opportunities within the water industry.

Where you fit in:

You will be responsible for creating a welcoming, organised and professional learning environment for colleagues, facilitators, visitors and partners using the Learning Lab. You will provide day-to-day support to help learning sessions run smoothly, ensuring learners are greeted well, rooms are set up correctly, bookings are managed effectively and the space reflects the quality, energy and ambition of Yorkshire Water’s learning proposition.

You will work closely with the Learning Engagement and Delivery Manager, Learning Delivery colleagues and Workplace Experience. You will help manage room capacity, training schedules, booking queries and operational requirements across the Learning Lab.

You will play a key role in making the Learning Lab feel like a purposeful, well-run and inspiring space where colleagues can come to learn, experiment, solve problems and build the skills needed for the future.

What skills are we looking for?

  • Previous experience of working in a customer service, coordination, administration, workplace, hospitality, facilities or learning support environment.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage bookings, schedules, room requirements and competing priorities.
  • Confident communication skills, with a friendly, professional and helpful approach to colleagues, visitors and stakeholders.
  • Good attention to detail, with the ability to keep shared spaces tidy, well prepared and operating effectively.
  • Ability to respond calmly and practically to queries, changes, last-minute issues and competing requests.
  • Confidence using Microsoft 365 tools, booking systems, calendars or similar systems to manage schedules and information.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Learning colleagues, Workplace Experience and wider stakeholders.
  • Commitment to delivering a great colleague and learner experience.

It would be beneficial if you had the following –

  • Previous experience supporting training sessions, events, inductions or colleague welcome activity.
  • Previous experience working with facilities, workplace experience, room booking or visitor management processes.
  • Experience supporting AV, IT-enabled rooms or basic equipment set-up requirements.
  • Experience monitoring utilisation, capacity or attendance information.
  • Understanding of learning environments and the practical support needed to create a positive learner experience.

Although we operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, it’s important to us that we support flexible working patterns and job share options (when we can), to help you make the best of both your work and home life. We know that juggling childcare responsibilities or getting that ideal work/life balance isn’t always easy!

About Yorkshire Water

We’re Yorkshire Water. The people trusted to take care of Yorkshire’s most valuable natural resource. On the surface, it sounds simple. We manage and look after the region’s water.
