Role & Responsibilities
Raytheon UK’s Courseware and Media Development Capability (CMDC) is looking for a Learning Innovation Manager to support development and the future capability of our training materials.
Responsibilities
- To lead the development of future learning capability by identifying, evaluating, and implementing innovative approaches that enhance training effectiveness, operational performance and organisational readiness.
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend emerging learning technologies, methodologies, and industry trends to enhance training capability.
- Develop and maintain the long-term learning innovation strategy, ensuring future training capability aligns with project, organisational, and operational objectives.
- Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of innovation pilots to validate new learning approaches and inform future investment decisions.
- Champion the adoption of modern learning technologies and digital solutions that improve learner performance, accessibility, and training effectiveness.
- Establish governance, standards, and assurance processes that enable innovation while maintaining compliance with policy, quality, and security requirements.
- Ensure all outputs adhere to JSP 822, DSAT principles, and the programme’s documentation standards.
- Build effective relationships across Defence, industry, and academia to influence learning innovation and foster collaborative development of future capabilities.
- Driving continuous improvement and change initiatives within the respective skillset to ensure our processes and products remain of the highest quality and up to date with latest initiatives and advances in technology.
- Develop organisational capability by coaching teams, sharing best practice and embedding a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning.
- Actively focused on promoting innovation and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in support of team Goals.
- Role modelling a proactive and willing approach, professional attitude, and leadership behaviours across CMDC.
- Comply with Raytheon and Customer policies.
- Carry out any other reasonable task such as assisting the other areas within Raytheon when required.
- Employees are responsible for their own Health and Safety and that of work colleagues and customers.
- The nature of Customer’s training requires a high degree of flexibility for all Raytheon staff; there may be a requirement for travel to other sites within the UK
- Be responsible for championing and fostering a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement.
- Any other duties required to complete the CMDC Training Service.
The ideal candidate has a background in training development and is comfortable working within a standardised development environment, thinks creatively, is confident, excels in a collaborative team atmosphere, and is detail oriented. A professional attitude, ability to follow technical and workflow processes, and solid communication skills are essential.
Required experience
- Communication with stakeholders outside of the training development team to gather technical information necessary for training requirements.
- Awareness of DSAT (JSP 822) and ADDIE principles and their application to training design and development.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and quality assure multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Experienced and capable of working autonomously and within a team.
- Ability to comprehend/interpret technical and non-technical information and apply it to training design.
- Ensure training designs align with best practices and internal quality standards.
- Must be organised and work well both independently and in a fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to use MS Office (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
- The successful candidate must be able to qualify for SC security clearance.
