What’s the job?
We are seeking an experienced and student-focused Learning Facilitator to support the development of final-year nutrition students within a clinical education environment. This role combines clinical supervision, student mentoring, and subject facilitation responsibilities to help students transition from academic learning into confident, evidence-informed clinical practice.
The successful candidate will bring strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for developing emerging practitioners. The role requires the ability to foster a supportive and professional learning environment while maintaining high standards of clinical education, client care, and academic integrity.
This role is a clinic supervision and learning facilitator position that includes work in The Practice Wellbeing Centre Surry Hills. The Practice offers a unique and holistic approach to health in Clinical Nutrition. This is a student-led clinic offering the latest approach and techniques at affordable prices. All sessions are supervised by qualified and experienced practitioners.
Principle accountabilities (but not limited to):
Manage small or large, blended/hybrid and or/online classes, as well as monitor and ensure participation
Manage their own and the student’s time and attention to learning effectively
Prepare and review teaching materials and make any recommendations necessary as per organisational policy and procedures
Make proper use of all current subject outlines, teaching material (shared lesson plans, slides, videos, etc.) and student learning materials (texts, workbooks, handouts, study guides, interactive PDFs, portal content, journal articles, etc.),
Assessment
Draft, review and update assessment tools, set and mark examination papers where needed,
Undertake student assessment
Scholarship, Currency (Academic discipline expertise) and Professional Development
Maintain and supply evidence of appropriate professional development undertakings to update industry expertise and/or experience in the discipline to comply with the regulatory standards required,
Actively contribute to the institution’s scholarship profile
Student Care
Collaborate with, introduce and embed Torrens Global Education (TGE) learning support teams to the student learning environments
Use learning management system tools and data to proactively monitor student engagement and improve the student experience and ultimately their learning outcomes
Academic Administration
Attend operational and academic meetings as required
Collaborate with other academic staff across Torrens Global Education (TGE) to influence group approaches to pedagogy and identify best practice in teaching and learning
Curriculum Development and Review
Leverage scholarship, research and/or external engagement activity to continuously improve curriculum
Develop, write and submit relevant subject materials in line with any briefs supplied, in the appropriate templates provided
Research, Scholarship and Community Engagement
Contribute to the enhancement of the institution through ethical research, scholarship and/or creative endeavours as appropriate, ensuring Research output is aligned with the discipline and the university’s strategic plan. Time commitment must be agreed with line manager
Support activities that boost academic engagement and benefit students, such as recruitment and retention of students

This is a permanent full-time ongoing role based at our Surry Hills Campus in Sydney. Hybrid working arrangements with 2-3 days on Campus and 2 days WFH.

Who you are:
Competencies:
Significant knowledge of health sciences and nutritional therapeutic subject areas combined with a broad disciplinary background enabling contributions to teaching programs
Experience in education, training, and assessment
Master’s qualification in Nutrition or a related field and undergraduate clinical training
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in clinical practice as a Clinical Nutritionist or in a related field
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and commitment to continuous professional development
Allied Health Professional Association Membership is required
Coaching and mentoring experience desired
Ability to work competently and harmoniously with colleagues and students of all cultures and backgrounds
Computer literacy in appropriate discipline-specific and learning technologies as per business requirements
High service ethos and work commitment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of pedagogical and/or adult learning principles relevant to the student cohort being taught
Sound understanding of current scholarship and/or professional practice in the discipline that is being taught
Knowledge:
Awareness and understanding of the National Code 2018 & ESOS; and display consistency in the application of the National Code 2018 & ESOS & associated legislation in matters relating to overseas students
