About CJCP
Central Jersey College Prep Charter School (CJCP) is a tuition-free, public charter school in Somerset, New Jersey serving grades Kindergarten through 12th. CJCP first opened in 2006 with 77 students, and is now serving a diverse population of over 1,300 students and nearly 300 faculty and staff. The mission of CJCP is to provide academic and social opportunities for students to attain the skills necessary for success in post-secondary education. CJCP serves its mission by offering rigorous educational programs with an emphasis on college preparation, college and career counseling, and extracurricular enrichment activities.
Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC)
Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct comprehensive educational evaluations and prepare legally compliant reports
- Participate in Child Study Team (CST) meetings, including identification, eligibility, annual review, and reevaluation meetings.
- Contribute to the development and revision of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with families and staff to explain evaluation results and educational recommendations.
- Provide consultation and instructional support to general and special education teachers
- Assist with progress monitoring and data-informed decision making
- Ensure compliance with NJDOE, IDEA, and charter school policies
- Maintain accurate, confidential student records and required documentation
- Serve as a consultant to parents, school personnel and community groups on child development and educational topics.
- Perform all duties required as a member of the child study team by administrative code, state, and federal laws and board policy
- Maintain professional competence through continuing education and other professional growth activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chief Education Officer or Director of Special Education.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of special education law and evaluation procedures
- Competency with educational testing and report writing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-based environment
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with state law, administrative code and provisions of the board's policy on the evaluation of certified staff
Minimum Requirements:
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university;
- Valid NJ Educational Services Certificate & Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant endorsement
- NJ Criminal History;
- Work authorization in the U.S.;
- Tuberculosis Test;
- Experience is a plus.
