Learning & Development Training Associate

Department: Human Resources

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: 1668 S. Garfield Ave. 2nd Floor, Alhambra, CA 91801

Compensation: $30.00 - $35.00 / hour


The Associate Trainer role is a key member of Astrana Health’s Learning & Development team, responsible for supporting the creation, delivery, and administration of learning programs across Astrana Health’s diverse healthcare operations. This role ensures high-quality learning experience, provides LMS (Litmos) support, and partners with training leadership and stakeholders to meet organizational development needs.

This position is designed for someone who wants to become an exceptional facilitator and L&D professional in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.

The ideal candidate is energetic, adaptable, detail-oriented, and driven, with the confidence and presence to engage a wide range of audiences, from frontline staff to senior leaders. Success in this role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, take initiative, learn quickly, and contribute to meaningful learning experiences both in person and online.

What You'll Do

Learning Program Support

  • Assist in the development, design, and delivery of engaging learning content (in-person and online).
  • Maintain and update training materials, guides, and multimedia content.
  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of training efforts to help improve effectiveness.
  • After completing Astrana’s trainer certification, co-facilitate and later independently facilitate learning sessions online and in-person.
  • Support onboarding, leadership development, compliance, skill building and operational training programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

LMS Administration & Technical Support (internal/external)

  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for Litmos-related questions, basic troubleshooting, and system support tasks.
  • Manage user accounts, course enrollments, reporting, and assist with system configuration.
  • Generate LMS analytics, track participation, and report on training outcomes.

Leadership & Stakeholder Partnership

  • Collaborate with training leaders and other stakeholders to understand team learning needs and participate in recommending solutions.
  • Support projects to enhance employee engagement, knowledge retention, and performance improvement.
  • Assist with communications, reminders, and follow-ups related to learning initiatives.

Continuous Improvement & Growth

  • Identify opportunities to enhance learning programs and improve processes.
  • Stay current on adult learning trends, LMS innovations, and instructional best practices.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and special initiatives as needed.
  • Must have an entrepreneurial, growth mindset around AI (artificial intelligence).

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business, or related field—or equivalent experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in learning and development, training coordination, or instructional support preferred.
  • Experience with LMS platforms (Litmos experience plus).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage learners and leaders.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Candidate may work from Orange or Alhambra offices, with a hybrid schedule of 2–3 days onsite.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 40% to clinics and offices (if needed).
  • The national target compensation for this position is $30-35 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location (current or future), experience, and other job-related factors.
