Learner and Workplace Training

Do you have a passion for road safety and developing people to be their best on the road?

NRMA Driver Training is looking for a Learning & Development Consultant – Driver Training to design, deliver and continuously improve our corporate driver training and instructor capability programs. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll see the real impact of your work in workplaces, instructor communities, and on the road.

What you’ll do

In this role, you’ll play a key part in the delivery and ongoing improvement of NRMA’s Corporate Driver Training program. You’ll work closely with instructors, trainers and internal stakeholders to ensure quality, consistency and best‑practice delivery across our programs.

This is a varied role that combines training delivery, coaching, instructional input and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver approved driver training programs to corporate clients
  • Deliver induction and ongoing group training for new and existing driver trainers
  • Provide 1:1, in‑car coaching to instructors to support capability uplift
  • Analyse instructor and participant feedback to improve training effectiveness
  • Contribute to the design and improvement of training content, delivery approaches and on‑road routes
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure training meets agreed standards
  • Maintain training records and complete required administration

What You'll Bring

You’re a confident facilitator and coach who enjoys working in a dynamic, customer‑focused environment. You’re passionate about road safety, value quality training outcomes, and are comfortable working with a diverse group of trainers and clients.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in training, coaching or facilitation (services environment preferred)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and assess competency consistently against defined standards (including providing clear, constructive feedback)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Commitment to high‑quality customer service
  • Willingness to travel across Sydney metro, regional NSW and the ACT (with occasional interstate/NZ travel)

Qualifications & requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications TLI41225 Certificate IV in Motor Vehicle Driver Training and TAE Certificate IV (TAE40122) Training and Assessment
  • Current unrestricted driver’s licence
  • Experience in content development for training programs, including Competence using common digital tools (e.g. LMS, MS Teams, Excel, PowerPoint) / presentation design skills for training administration and reporting and maintaining accurate training records
  • Willingness to travel across Sydney metro, regional NSW and the ACT (with occasional interstate/NZ travel)
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and learner engagement
  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to adapt delivery to different audiences (frontline, instructors, corporate clients) and learning needs
  • High level planning, organisation and attention to detail, including preparation of lesson plans, session resources and assessment documentation
