Help shape how our people learn, grow and thrive

We’re looking for a passionate and engaging Learning and Development Specialist to join our People team and play a key role in delivering impactful learning experiences across the business.

About the role:

This is a broad and varied role with responsibility for delivering classroom, virtual and digital learning solutions that support colleague development and business performance. You’ll work across a range of learning initiatives — from early careers programmes to ongoing development interventions — helping colleagues build capability at every stage of their career.

As a Learning and Development Specialist at Drax you’ll:

· Deliver engaging learning programmes across classroom, virtual and digital formats to support colleague growth and business priorities.

· Facilitate learning confidently across a variety of audiences, using coaching techniques and interactive delivery methods to maximise participation and learning outcomes.

· Evaluate learning effectiveness through metrics, feedback and ROI measures to demonstrate impact and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

· Support the delivery and ongoing development of early careers initiatives, ensuring programmes align with organisational priorities and colleague development needs.

· Manage apprenticeship levy reporting and provide insight that supports effective use of available learning investment.

· Work collaboratively with leaders and People colleagues to identify learning priorities and deliver solutions that drive performance.

· Partner closely with the Group Talent function to ensure learning activity supports wider people and organisational goals.

· Source and coordinate learning providers aligned to business and colleague requirements.

· Support the maintenance and development of e-learning content and digital learning solutions.

·Stay informed on emerging learning trends, technologies and funding opportunities to continually enhance delivery.

Who we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone who is curious, collaborative and passionate about developing people.

You’ll bring:

· Experience delivering engaging classroom and virtual learning interventions.

· Confidence facilitating groups and creating an inclusive, interactive learning environment.

· Experience evaluating learning effectiveness and using data and insight to improve outcomes.

· Knowledge of digital learning tools and ideally experience developing e-learning content or a willingness to learn basic skills in this area.

· An interest in learning analytics or an Insights Practitioner qualification (or willingness to work towards one).

· Experience supporting early careers, apprenticeship or development programmes would be advantageous.

· Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across HR and the wider business.

· A customer-focused approach with high levels of credibility, resilience and integrity.

· A genuine passion for helping colleagues learn, grow and succeed.

If you enjoy facilitating learning, creating engaging experiences and seeing the impact development can have on individuals and teams, we’d love to hear from you.
