Job Description

The Learning & Development Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, tracking, and supporting the execution of learning and development projects across the organization. This role works closely with the Director of Learning & Development Strategy and cross-functional business partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business priorities.

The Project Manager supports a wide range of initiatives including training academy development, content launches, leadership programs, innovation projects, process improvements, compliance initiatives, and other strategic learning projects.

This role is responsible for managing timelines, tracking milestones, coordinating meetings, documenting project plans, identifying risks, and ensuring clear communication across stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Coordination

Manage learning and development projects from initiation through completion.

Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, workback schedules, and status updates.

Coordinate project meetings, agendas, action items, follow-up tasks, and stakeholder communications.

Track project progress and ensure deliverables are completed on time and within scope.

Partner with internal stakeholders to gather project requirements, clarify priorities, and align on expectations.

Maintain documentation for project plans, risks, dependencies, issues, and decisions.

Identify potential project risks and escalate issues to leadership as needed.

Support resource planning and workload balancing across multiple learning initiatives.

Learning Initiative Support

Support major learning initiatives including training academy development, new content launches, leadership development programs, technology rollouts, innovation projects, and process improvement efforts.

Coordinate with content development teams, field training teams, business leaders, vendors, and subject matter experts to support project execution.

Ensure training materials, communication plans, pilot programs, and launch activities are completed according to schedule.

Help organize testing, feedback collection, change management activities, and rollout planning for learning initiatives.

Assist in developing implementation plans for new training programs, tools, and systems.

Reporting & Communication

Prepare project status reports, dashboards, and executive summaries for leadership.

Monitor project milestones, timelines, budgets, and deliverables.

Communicate project updates, risks, barriers, and decisions to stakeholders and leadership.

Maintain accurate project documentation and meeting notes.

Support leadership presentations and project review meetings.

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve project management processes, communication, and execution.

Recommend tools, templates, and tracking methods to improve efficiency and visibility.

Support continuous improvement efforts across the learning organization.

Help standardize project management practices, documentation, and reporting.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Human Resources, Learning & Development, Organizational Development, Education, or related field required.

3+ years of project management, program coordination, operations, or learning and development experience.

Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.

Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Experience using project management tools, spreadsheets, reporting dashboards, and presentation software.

Experience supporting training programs, learning initiatives, or operational projects preferred.

Familiarity with learning management systems, instructional design processes, or change management principles preferred.
