We are seeking a passionate, experienced and creative Learning and Development Consultant to join our Learning and Development team!

This role is responsible for designing, developing and continuously improving high-quality learning solutions that build workforce capability and support organisational priorities. You will partner with subject matter experts and stakeholders to analyse learning needs, scope and prioritise learning initiatives, and translate complex information into engaging, accessible learning experiences across a range of delivery formats.

You will also provide expert advice on instructional design approaches, learning modalities and learner engagement strategies, ensuring solutions are fit-for-purpose, evidence-informed and aligned to organisational needs.

This role will create learning that makes a meaningful difference in community services and disability contexts.

Key accountabilities

  • Design and develop engaging learning solutions across eLearning, facilitator-led, virtual and blended formats.
  • Partner with stakeholders and subject matter experts to analyse learning needs, scope and prioritise initiatives, and develop fit-for-purpose learning solutions.
  • Provide expert advice on instructional design approaches, learning modalities and learner engagement strategies to inform effective learning design decisions.
  • Apply contemporary instructional design principles to deliver accessible, high-quality learning experiences.
  • Support the implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of learning programs.
  • Contribute to capability uplift by sharing best practice, tools and insights across the L&D function.

About You

You are an experienced L&D Consultant with strong instructional design expertise, skilled in partnering with stakeholders to prioritise and deliver impactful learning solutions.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in instructional design and developing contemporary learning solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and learning design methodologies.
  • Experience partnering with stakeholders and subject matter experts to co-design scope and prioritise learning solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide advice and guidance on learning design approaches and influence effective learning outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines effectively.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville. In 2016–17, more than 85,654 children attended our Emergency Department, 322,291 specialist clinic appointments were held which was almost 70,000 more than the previous year, more than 17,000 surgeries were performed and more than 48,552 children were admitted to our wards.
