He aha te tūranga - About the role:

As our Learning Designer, you’ll be responsible for designing and developing engaging learning materials across a variety of formats, including e-learning modules, facilitator-led training, learner guides, and presentations.

Working closely with internal experts across clinical, operational, health and safety, and technical areas, you’ll transform specialist knowledge into practical, learner-friendly content that supports measurable learning outcomes.

In this role, you will:

  • Design engaging learning solutions for external audiences using adult learning and instructional design principles.
  • Create high-quality facilitator and learner resources, presentation decks, assessments, and digital learning content.
  • Develop e-learning modules and multimedia learning assets using contemporary authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline and Rise.
  • Collaborate with SMEs and internal teams to ensure learning content is accurate, relevant, and fit for purpose.
  • Ensure all learning materials align with brand, accessibility, and quality standards.

This is a casual role, allowing you to complete the mahi from anywhere, and at any time. You will be required to join online meetings as needed however, you'll be provided with your key projects and objectives, to complete within suitable deadlines.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A qualification in Adult Education, Learning Design, Instructional Design, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience developing training materials and learning solutions for external audiences or commercial learning environments.
  • Strong skills in instructional design and adult learning capability, including experience with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline and Rise.
  • Excellent written communication, editing, and visual presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical or specialist content into engaging learning materials for diverse audiences.
  • Strong organisational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Confidence working collaboratively with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and digital learning systems, including Microsoft Office.

Most importantly, you’ll be learner-focused, adaptable, collaborative, and motivated by continuous improvement and making a positive impact through education.
