These internship roles offer an exciting opportunity to contribute to a University-wide programme of work, supporting the implementation of the Learning and Teaching Strategy, specifically the enhancement of assessment and feedback practices. The interns will play a key role in developing evidence-informed resources and approaches that improve students’ understanding of assessment, strengthen consistency in practice, and enhance learning experiences across the University. Two internship opportunities are available. Depending on the skills, interests and experience of the successful candidates, interns may work collaboratively across the project or take responsibility for discrete areas of activity aligned to the priorities of the work.

You will have:

• Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify, evaluate and synthesise evidence from a range of sources.
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accessible materials for different audiences.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively to academic and professional services staff, and students.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage tasks, prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including students, academic staff and professional services colleagues.
• You must be a currently matriculated PhD student at the University of Edinburgh for the duration of the internship contract.

These internship posts are fixed-term (4 months), and part time (7 hours per week). We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working. The role can be undertaken through a hybrid working arrangement; however, there is an expectation that the successful candidates will work on campus regularly to support collaboration and engagement with colleagues. Ideally, interns will be available to work in person on the key anchor day (Tuesday), when relevant team members are typically based in the office.

The University will employ full-time PGR students for no more than an average of 9 hours per week across the academic year (as per its policy), and you must make sure any employment complies with any visa or funding conditions you may have.
