Scope
The Learning & Development Trainer I supports the delivery of training programs that enhance agency performance, strengthen brand alignment, and promote best practices. This role focuses on facilitating established training programs, assisting with content updates, and supporting learner engagement across onboarding and ongoing development initiatives.
The Trainer I works closely with senior L&D team members and subject matter experts to ensure training materials are accurate, relevant, and aligned with business needs. This role is ideal for a developing trainer who is building facilitation skills and gaining experience in instructional design and learning technologies.
Job Responsibilities
Deliver and co-facilitate virtual and in-person training sessions using established curricula and materials
Support onboarding programs and ongoing development training initiatives
Assist in updating training materials, job aids, and presentation content as needed
Collaborate with L&D team members and subject matter experts to maintain accurate and relevant learning content
Coordinate training logistics, including scheduling, communications, and participant tracking
Collect and compile learner feedback and assist with basic reporting on training effectiveness
Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) to assign courses, track completion, and support learners
Provide basic technical assistance to participants during virtual sessions
Maintain accurate documentation of training activities and materials
Support additional learning and development initiatives as assigned
Document training activities and results in internal systems with accuracy and timeliness.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills, Licenses, Certifications
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, One Drive, SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint)
Proficient in basic IT troubleshooting, system setup, and navigation – and ability to teach to others
Beginner level instructional design experience
Content development experience desired
Able to gather and analyze complex facts and data, draw inferences, weigh alternatives and present logical solutions
Exceptional facilitation skills in classroom and virtual settings
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Property and Casualty (or state equivalent) insurance license preferred
Minimum of 1+ years insurance experience in Personal and/or Commercial Lines (Commercial experience highly preferred)
Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in Training (or related field)
